How we work.

From the first visit to sixty days after the last day on site. Every project we take on runs through the same seven steps, in the same order. You will always know which step we are on, what comes next, and what is owed. Nothing on this list is optional and nothing on it is charged for separately.

  1. Site visit and scoping

We come to you, measure, photograph and listen. The work is scoped on site so that nothing is assumed and nothing is guessed at later. No charge, and no obligation at the end of it.

  2. The proposal

A written scope of works setting out exactly what we propose to do, in the order we would carry it out.

  3. The quotation

Priced against that scope and itemised. Not a lump sum, but a line for each part of the work, so you can see what each part costs and decide what you want and what you do not. Once that figure is agreed it is fixed. Only additional works you ask for after that point are priced separately, and never without your say-so first.

  4. The work plan

On your approval we issue the work plan: the programme and the cash flow together. The sequence of the work, dated, with the payments set against it, so you can see what falls due and when.

  5. Works execution

We build it. The house stays liveable while we work. We protect what we are not working on, screen for dust, and clean up at the end of every day rather than at the end of the job.

  6. Snag work

We walk the finished work with you, list anything that needs attention, and close every item on that list before we ask for the final payment.

  7. Quality assurance certificate

Issued on completion. It records what was done, what was used, and the guarantee that comes with it. We come back at sixty days and put right anything that has failed through our workmanship, at our cost.

What your written proposal walks you through

After the site visit you don't get a one-line quote. You get a proposal that covers the whole job in plain language, so you can decide with the full picture in front of you:

  1. 01Your needs, in your own words
  2. 02What we found on site
  3. 03What's actually causing the problem
  4. 04The proposed scope of work
  5. 05How we'll deliver it, cause before cosmetics
  6. 06An indicative programme, week by week
  7. 07Concept options to react to, modelled in SketchUp
  8. 08Indicative pricing, with no hidden extras
  9. 09Assumptions and exclusions, in writing
  10. 10Clear next steps, then you decide

Any variation along the way is agreed in writing before we proceed. It's the same discipline we bring to the build, applied to the paperwork.

Our quality promise.

Quality doesn't end at handover. All three are recorded on the signed certificate you saw above.

  • Quality checks before close-out
  • Free 60-day follow-up inspection
  • Workmanship defects fixed at our cost
