A working family home in Townsend Estate, Goodwood, that needed to do more: the granny flat refreshed, the garage converted into a laundry and domestic living quarters, and the old uncovered stoep turned into a covered verandah the family actually uses.

The Townsend Estate patio before renovation, with old crazy paving and no cover
Before: the old crazy-paved stoep, dated and uncovered.

The renovation ran as one coordinated job: structural openings formed and made good, the garage refitted as a laundry and living quarters, the granny flat upgraded, and the patio rebuilt with terracotta tiling and new paving under a proper covered structure.

During: our team forming a structural opening, with the family still living in the home.

Roughly four weeks on site, with the timeline driven by the scope rather than a promise made before we understood the work.

After: the covered verandah, terracotta tiling and columns, lit for the evening.

“Everything from the initial consultation, to updates and communication was effortless. We were given a detailed budget, work schedule and cost analysis as works were being completed and there were no surprises. Honesty, integrity and brilliant communication are really rare traits. I would recommend them to anyone.”

The challenge

The family stayed in the home throughout, so structural openings, a garage conversion and a patio rebuild had to run as one sequenced job rather than three separate disruptions.

Our solution

One team managed the whole scope: openings formed and made good first, then the garage refit and granny flat upgrade, with the verandah and paving closing out the job.

The outcome

A covered, tiled verandah the family uses daily, a working laundry and living quarters where the garage stood, and a 5-star review from the client.
